Sponsorship for the 5^th Conference of Robotics and Mechatronics (RobMech2011)

The CSIR, in conjunction with the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), University of Cape Town (UCT) University of Johannesburg (UJ) and the IEEE RAS and CC chapter, is hosting the 4^th Conference of Robotics and Mechatronics (RobMech) 2011 in Gauteng on November 26-17, 2012. This conference, given the increasing international- and South African interest in robotics and mechatronics, join researchers and industry together to notify each other about the latest technologies and research within this field. A website www.ROBMECH.co.za has been established on which details of the conference are posted. An exceptionally strong technical program with internationally renowned invited speakers is being arranged.

The RobMech conference cost have to be covered by the above mentioned organizations. We are therefore endeavoring to keep the costs of the conference as low as possible, and hope that our relatively low registration fee and sponsorship will cover the costs of the conference and contribute at least partially to the expenses of all delegates.

In particular, the sponsorship we receive will be used predominantly to ensure a high quality conference by targeting and assisting internationally recognized invited speakers, particularly those from abroad to offset their higher costs of travel, and students, and to make some special awards. We would therefore welcome any support from those industries with a keen interest in robotics, mechatronics and automation to help finance this conference.

The South African leg of Robocup soccer will be held at the conference and a mobile robotics competition with a mining theme, will display current abilities of academic institutions in robotic research.

The sponsorship packages provide the following marketing and publicity opportunities:

Platinum Package:

· Naming rights to the conference – i.e. the CSIR ROBMECH 2012

· The primary display area (with a table and chairs) for company promotion throughout the conference duration

· Proper recognition in our proceedings, brochures, website postings, distribution materials, and meeting announcements and displays.

· Corporate promotional items placed on seating/ tables at the social events

· Corporate banners on display at venue

· Corporate insert in the conference attendee bags

· Lunch time Demonstration/Presentation by sponsor delegate

· three complimentary conference registration

The cost of the Platinum Sponsor package is ZA R150 000 – there is only one platinum package available.

Gold Package:

· A gold package display area (with a table and chairs) for company promotion throughout the conference duration

· Proper recognition in our brochures, website postings, distribution materials, and meeting announcements and displays.

· Corporate insert in the conference attendee bags

· Two complimentary conference registration

The cost of the Gold Sponsor package is ZA R90 000

Silver Package:

· A silver package display area (with a table and chairs) for company promotion throughout the conference duration

· Corporate insert in the conference attendee bags

· One complimentary conference registration

The cost of the Silver Sponsor package is ZA R30 000

Exhibition Space:

A display table with poster board will be available for technical and product exhibitions. The exhibit will be set up next to the technical sessions to allow conference participants easy access to the exhibit.

The cost of Exhibition Space is ZA R5 000

We would, therefore, greatly appreciate it if your company would consider supporting this conference at whatever level is deemed appropriate. Specific sponsorships are also available - I.e. a sponsorship for printing all the proceedings.  To negotiate customised deals, please contact the chair or secretary at your convenience.
